A Sneak Peek at Denver’s Great Candy Run Route!

We’re getting excited for the Great Candy Run November 6th in Washington Park, and it’s not just a sugar high. (Though we have been eating far too many candy corns and tiny pumpkins.)

Details are coming together, we have terrific and enthusiastic sponsors, and running a candy-themed course to help babies before they are even born wins the day.

Runners, walkers, and especially those bringing kids and sippy cups to an event love to know the details. So here you are: our map for the big day!

What’s your next sweet step? Text your best candy-loving friends, make a team, and register!

Elite Athletes to Set Sweet Pace at Great Candy Run

This weekend’s Great Candy Run will host a number of area elite athletes competing for cash prizes as part of its 5,000+ participant list. The 11th annual event is set for Denver’s Washington Park on November 9th, presented by The Colorado Institute for Maternal and Fetal Health in conjunction with the University of Colorado Hospital, Children’s Hospital Colorado, and the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

Notable athletes include Charles Hillig, Jr., a 2-time USATF National Half Marathon Championship Qualifier; Ironman athlete Eric Greene; 2012 Olympic Trials competitor Brianne Lippoldt Nelson; and defending Female champion Kristen Arendt, an 11-time All-American and 2014 USATF Half Marathon Champion.

“We are very happy to support, in a small way, our regional elite athletes. It is an honor to have the region’s top talent racing in our event,” said Lonnie Somers, Race Director and Fetal Health Foundation CEO & Founder. “We are also humbled that our elite athletes will be interacting and engaging with our participants, including over 1,500 youth doing their first 5K.”
